Yup, I am not kidding!
If you go to your local Loblaw store and go to the bakery in the back, ask them for some frozen calabrese buns (they are frozen disks and they sometimes are packages as kaiser buns...regardless, they are frozen pucks). Some stores are reluctant, but I know the Superstore in Aurora will sell them to you.
The bakery proofs them and bakes them off as buns but, when you buy them like this, you can use them for a million things (personal pizza, panzarottis, bread sticks, etc...).
I used mine to make my son's favourite 3 minute pizza - shaved pear, shaved red onion, goat cheese, toasted pecans, mozzarella and a drizzle of honey.
What are you gonna make with yours??
When you want to use a couple, take the disks out of the freezer and put them on a plate. Wet a paper towel and wring it out (so it is just damp) and cover the frozen disks.
